About Current Edition

Current Edition is James River’s premier mixed-voice competition show choir. This ensemble is dedicated to choral excellence, balancing high-energy performance skills with a foundation in traditional vocal technique. Each season, the group produces a thematic production lasting approximately twenty minutes and featuring five choreographed songs brought to life through vibrant costumes, detailed sets, and storytelling. Fresh off a successful comeback season where they placed at every local competition, Current Edition is looking for its next cohort of dedicated performers.

Auditions are held annually the week before Spring Break and are open to all qualifying students in grades nine through twelve. Members accepted into the group must attend a mandatory week-long choreography camp in August to prepare for the upcoming season. While participation involves costs for custom music arrangements, choreography, and costuming, the Choral Boosters provide numerous fundraising opportunities to ensure the program remains accessible to all families. Members are expected to maintain consistent rehearsal attendance, demonstrate strong teamwork, and show sportsmanship by supporting other groups at competitions.
