Chamber Ensemble is the advanced chorus class offered at James River. This course fosters skills which help students develop vocal technique and ensemble participation. This class sings a variety of music from various genres including foreign language pieces. Students will learn to sight read and use ear training methods and interval study to progress their music literacy. Performances are mandatory and are a part of the overall grade in this class. Special performance attire is required and purchased through the school at the beginning of the school year in your chorus class. Chamber Ensemble members are James Rivers most dedicated singers and are committed to the excellence standards set for a high class group of this nature. Students audition for this class in late February early March of each year. This class is open to rising/qualifying 9th-12th graders. See audition forms on this page. Students in the chamber ensemble perform at pep rallies, concerts, competitions, and are responsible for keep James River rated as a Blue Ribbon School of Excellence in performance arts.
